Model Making
The lamp consist of one metal structure that holds the weight of shells and curved plastic, made easy to disassemble, clean, interchange bulbs & plastics plisses.
Our work model is created of 48 pieces of 3D printed PLA “welded” together using small pieces of metal heated and inserted into the sides and the middle, then plastered and sanded as seen below.
Simple video to showcase the constructed lamp being turned
This & the first rendering was created, with help from the fantastic Lasse Farstad.
Learning Outcome
First chance to work with real clients, handling their needs & wants, ensuring easy assembly, disassembly, cleaning & interchangeability. Ending with a standing ovation when presented for the Le Klint Stakeholders at their HQ.
