The Hamburg Operational Centre is spatial design bettering the work environment for meetings and crisis management for DNV GL and their clients.
Opportunities
Designing an operational Centre for DNV GL, ensuring optimal working conditions while handling crisis cases. Later expanded to their meeting facilities as well.
Team & Duration
Rui Martins & Joan Pablo Farre
2.5 month
Project Role
I was in charge of all Interior Design, and commonality in the design language.
Joan handled UI and Rui the AV solution.
We were on several research excursions at the Olso and Hamburg Offices. Interviewing the users about their everyday behaviours, how they utilize the spaces, what their dreams are and the biggest pain points of the spaces as they were before.
We worked closely with the client to establish design references, guidelines that would work across their international offices and ensure commonality in Materials, Colors and Shapes. Ensuring that we collaborated smoothly with DNV GL & their contractors.
These early sketches, were simply to facilitate a dialogue about the placement of the furniture, sound damperners on the walls, entrance, materials and shapes bounding it to the craft of the maritime industry.
These final renderings were created by a Lasse Farstad. I did the 3D modelling & concept development
Learning Outcome
The importance of prioritisation and delegation of tasks ensuring the team and I wouldn’t burn out, while managing expectations of the many stakeholders, updating them weekly, to ensure project ownership.
